    GOAL  


MacArthur Junior High School will provide every student with the opportunity to: 

Acquire a stock of information handling skills that will equip them to cover the principles of the basic curriculum, current social issues, and the environment. 

Accrue basic skills in obtaining information, solving problems, adapting to new situations, thinking critically, and communicating effectively. 

Gain the knowledge, understanding, and coping skills that permit participation in a satisfying and responsible role in contemporary society. 

Become an effective and responsible contributor to the decision-making process of the community, state, nation, and world. 

Learn to enjoy the processes of learning and to acquire the problem solving skills necessary for a lifetime of continuous learning. 

Acquire the ability to form satisfying and responsible relationships with a wide range of people, including those with social and cultural characteristics different from his or her own. 

Develop an understanding of his or her  self worth, abilities, and potential while striving for academic excellence. 

Obtain an appreciation for the aesthetic qualities and be encouraged in the development of his or her talents and abilities. 

Develop spirit and ideals for good sportsmanship and fair play through specifically designed activities and events during and after school. 

Recognize a respect for the physical and emotional well-being of themselves and others. 

MacArthur Junior High School will provide every teacher, administrator, and staff member with the opportunity to actively pursue the professional growth necessary for them to effectively promote the philosophy and goals of the school.
