\r\n

Dear LPS Family,\r\n

\r\n

The district continues to partner with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, the Oklahoma State Department of Health and Comanche County Health Department to monitor and communicate preventive measures for the health and wellness of our community. \r\n

\r\n

As we prepare for Spring Break next week, we wanted to share the guidance we received from our State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister. \r\n

\r\n

Individuals returning from travel to China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan or any other Level 2 or 3 country as identified by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) should self-quarantine for a period of 14 days before returning to school. This applies to all students, teachers, and other school or district staff.\r\n

\r\n

Steps for returning travelers from Level 2 or 3 countries:\r\n

\r\n

1.  Take your temperature with a thermometer two times a day and monitor for fever. Also, watch for cough or trouble breathing.\r\n

\r\n

2.  Stay home and avoid contact with others. Do not go to work or school for this 14-day period. Discuss your work situation with your district before returning to work or school.\r\n

\r\n

3.  Do not take public transportation, taxis, or ride-shares during the time you are practicing social distancing.\r\n

\r\n

4.  Avoid crowded places (such as shopping centers and movie theaters) and limit your activities in public.\r\n

\r\n

5.  Keep your distance from others (about 6 feet).\r\n

\r\n

Please refer frequently to the CDC Travelers Guidance as other countries may be elevated to Level 2 or 3 at any time.\r\n

\r\n

Sick Leave:\r\n

\r\n

District employees may use any available sick leave during a required 14-day self-quarantine.\r\n

\r\n

The CDC recommends travelers, particularly those with underlying health issues, defer all cruise ship travel worldwide. Those returning from cruise travels will be screened and may be subject to isolation or quarantine.\r\n We will continue to send updates and information as we receive them.
