8th Grade Promotion Ticket Distribution Begins Friday

Distribution of guest tickets for this year’s MacArthur Middle School 8th grade promotion ceremonies will begin this Friday, May 14, at MMS. Each student will receive two guest passes. LOST TICKETS WILL NOT BE REPLACED. Admission passes will be required for anyone age 3 or over. Children under the age of 3 may sit on a parent or guardian’s lap and will not be required to have a ticket. To allow for proper social distancing, two ceremonies will take place on Thursday, May 20, in the MMS auditorium. The first ceremony at 9:00 AM, will honor students with last names beginning with letters A-L. A second ceremony at 11:00 AM, will honor students with last names beginning with letters M-Z. TRADITIONAL STUDENTS: Tickets will be distributed to students during their regular lunch period in the commons area. Each student will be required to acknowledge receipt of their tickets by signature. Traditional students who are not in attendance on Friday will be able to pick up their tickets in the counselor’s office through Tuesday, May 18. At the end of the school day on May 18, any unclaimed tickets reserved for traditional students will be released to the waiting list (see below).

VIRTUAL STUDENTS: Parents or guardians of MMS virtual students will be able to pick up their tickets in person at the school beginning Friday, May 14, through the end of the school day on Tuesday, May 18. Photo ID and signature will be required to pick up tickets. After May 18, any unclaimed tickets reserved for virtual students will be released to the waiting list (see below).

WAITING LIST: If any student would like to receive more than two tickets, a request for additional tickets can be made by calling the main office at the number listed above. Extra tickets will be awarded in pairs on a first-come, first-served basis according to the waiting list. If you request more than two extra tickets, the additional extras will only be awarded after all other requests have received their first pair.

UNUSED TICKETS: Students and families who do not intend to attend the promotion ceremony are encouraged to immediately turn in their unused tickets to the main office for release to the waiting list.
