Koreenna Gonzalez was born in the country of Panama. She grew up in a military family and spent most of her childhood in the state of Kentucky – the Bluegrass State!
Mrs. Gonzalez graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She later attended school at the University of Louisville where she obtained a Master of Arts in Teaching degree.
Soon after graduation, Mrs. Gonzalez moved to Oklahoma where she spent her first three years of teaching at Sheridan Road Elementary with Lawton Public Schools. For 17 years Mrs. Gonzalez taught in various locations, both in Oklahoma and Kentucky, before deciding to return to school. Mrs. Gonzalez attended Liberty University and graduated in 2015 with a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Although Mrs. Gonzalez worked in behavioral health for several years, she missed the community feel of working in education. Since the summer of 2018, Mrs. Gonzalez has worked as a school counselor for MacArthur Middle School.
Being a school counselor affords Mrs. Gonzalez the opportunity to work with students, staff and families in order to help promote a safe and successful environment.
Mrs. Gonzalez loves spending time with her husband and family, singing, crafting and traveling!
