My name is Ella Snavely, and I am proud to be the principal at Washington Elementary School. My family moved to Lawton (from Missouri) in July 2013 due to my husband's military assignment to Fort Sill. My first placement in LPS was as a 4th grade teacher at Washington. Then, in November 2016, I was reassigned to Ridgecrest Elementary as the Assistant Principal until coming back to Washington in July 2018. I've been married to my husband Thomas for 31 years and we have five children, three sons-in-law, and six grandbabies. After my husband got out of the Army, our family decided to remain in the area. He is currently a teacher at Tomlinson Middle School, and we are also Associate Pastors in Cache, OK.

My goal for Washington goes hand-in-hand with our new Mission Statement: At Washington we provide an educational program that maximizes the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of each child in a safe, nurturing , and diverse environment. We will also partner with local organizations that will help provide role models and assistance for our students throughout the year.

I would like to extend an invitation to our parents and guardians to stop by and introduce yourselves. I have an open door policy and would enjoy getting to know you and visiting with you about any issues or concerns. The only time I am not available is when my responsibilities require me to be in our classrooms, at a district meeting, or in our weekly collaboration with teachers.

Again, I am honored to be working with our Washington staff & faculty, our students, parents, and our community partnerships. Together our goal is to implement our Vision and Mission statements  in order to enhance the education of our students.
