Through the efforts of physical education teacher Amy Gilpen, MacArthur Middle School has once again been recognized as a Certified Healthy School by the Oklahoma Turning Point Council, the Oklahoma State Department of Health, and the Center for the Advancement of Wellness.

The Certified Healthy School program annually recognizes school sites that make a positive impact on the health of employees and patrons. Applicants for the award can achieve three levels of certification: Basic, Merit and Excellence. MMS earned the Excellence certification and will be recognized at an awards ceremony March 1, at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
